"The polished shoes of your next-door neighbour, the empty wineglass left from the night before, the feel of your best-friend's jacket under your arm, the smell of your bed or the side-ways glance of the alluring postman".
These are glimpses into a viewpoint that can't always be expressed through words. Tyrrell's aim is to give the objects a new life, a life they may have already lived or a life they may have wished for. Unfolding visual narratives and accounts of people within the walls, streets, clothes and surfaces that narrate them. The approaches she uses in her work vary dependant on the story she is telling, each object, image or surface functions as an adjective or tool in the delivery of the content.
> Bronwen's background
Having lived and been brought up in Cornwall Bronwen began her higher education in the city of Truro where she explored a variety of creative subjects such as Photography, Art, Textiles and Life drawing City and Guilds. This was then followed by her Art foundation year Falmouth college of Art. In need of new stimulation she then set her sights on the urban prospects of London and began a Fine Art degree at Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design, situated in the very groin of the city; stimulating Soho.
Throughout the three years spent there she was involved in various group collaborations, including large-scale Mural commissions, Group shows, Arts council funded projects and assignments with secondary schools. The influence of her travelling through South-East Asia, Europe and America became key elements in the work and remains a strong resource for current themes.
She now lives near her studio in North-East London, which holds a vast network of other artists within the arena. This collective are developing various clusters of shows involving mixed media collaborations.
